troop 140

Come check us out!

Troop 140 meets on Monday evenings at the Oregon City Elks Lodge on Main street at 7pm during the school year and at the St John's Cemetery building on Warner St at 7p.m. during the summer.

The scouts in Troop 140 participate in activities and outings throughout the year--rain or shine.  This exposes them to all the "opportunities" that may arise in the outdoors to develop and use skills that someday may be lifesaving.  Our scouts learn to understand and interact with their natural environment, developing a respect for their surroundings.  Troop 140 is proud to teach "leave no trace" camping.

The dedicated adult leadership of the troop assists the boys in carrying out the activities they have planned.  We help them with arrangements, organizing supplies, and attending the outings and activities in a support capacity.  With this level of assistance, the scouts learn to be independent self-thinkers, develop planning, coordinating, and leadership skills.  As patrol members and leaders, the scouts  learn to work together as a team and rely on each other.

Welcome to Troop 140's Website!

Troop 140 is a boy-run troop.  The scouts range from 5th grade through seniors in high school.  The troop is divided into patrols of mixed ages and rank so that the senior scouts teach and help the younger scouts.  Scouts in their first year with Troop 140 are in their own patrol with troop guides assigned to help them along.  Troop guides are older scouts who have achieved the rank of first class.
